Madeira eGames Lab
Redcatpig is announcing being a part of the second-placed consortium led by Wow Systems with access to 31 Million euros of funding from the Recovery and Resilience Program (RRP), due to the EU initiative.
51 of the initial 64 RRP proposals were found to be valid, totaling an investment of 7.6 billion euros that will be put into action by the end of 2026. 2 billion of the total funds are specifically designated as incentives for science and technology R&D.
To capitalize on the competitiveness of the industry and position itself globally, 22 companies, R&D facilities, universities, and public and private entities have come together to form the distinctive eGames and creative industries cluster known as Madeira eGames Lab in Portugal.
Major industry players like Sony Playstation, Amazon AWS, Dell's Alienware, and Singapore's EnjinStarter Launchpad have officially endorsed the partnership.
Sony will provide the market support for this platform. Dell has committed to creating a novel competence center in the Region, AWS will support the eGames Lab in a number of ways: the organization overseeing the games hub and Activate Credits provider, and finally EnjinStarter will provide market access and promotion in South East Asia.
It is a real game changer in the Portuguese videogames industry, aiming for a release of 14 new working titles in a 3 year time frame.
This milestone is a major move for Redcatpig on its mission to create cross-platform high-quality games with a focus on engaging franchises.

Madeira eGames Lab
A Redcatpig anuncia a sua integração como membro do consórcio Madeira eGames Lab. Consórcio esse financiado com 31 milhões de euros do Programa de Recuperação e Resiliência (PRR). O projeto, liderado pela Wow Systems, ficou classificado em segundo lugar entre as 64 propostas iniciais. Dessas 51 foram validadas representando um investimento total de 7.6 mil milhões de euros a serem executados até ao fim de 2026. Do capital total, 2 mil milhões são exclusivamente incentivos para a I&D na ciência e tecnologia.
Com o objetivo de capitalizar a competitividade da indústria de videojogos a nível global, 22 entidades entre universidades, instituições públicas e privadas juntaram-se para criar a Madeira eGames Lab.
Gigantes como a Sony Playstation, a Amazon e a Dell já se oficializaram como parceiros deste projeto.
A Sony fornecerá suporte de mercado para a sua plataforma. A Dell comprometeu-se em criar um novo centro de competências na região, a Amazon providenciará suporte ao eGames Lab de diversas formas: supervisão sobre o hub de gaming e provedor de créditos de ativaçã AWS, e finalmente, a EnjinStarter fornecerá promoção e acesso ao mercado no sudeste Asiático.
É o maior investimento no cenário de desenvolvimento de videojogos em Portugal, com o objetivo de concretizar 14 novos títulos para um período de 3 anos.
Uma conquista da Redcatpig na sua missão de criar jogos de elevada qualidade com foco em franchises de larga escala e para diferentes plataformas.
